Consultation

Our work begins in the initial consultation, discussing specific concerns about your mood, anxiety, or struggle in one or more areas of life. The consultation is an opportunity for you and a Brain and Behavior psychiatrist to meet each other and see if you want to establish a formal doctor-patient relationship. The consultation process ensures the expectations and goals of both doctor and patient are aligned, and that there is a potential therapeutic "fit."

Collaborating together, you and a psychiatrist at Brain and Behavior will work to develop a treatment plan. When the treatment plan is mutually agreed upon, the doctor-patient treatment relationship may begin. Your treatment plan might include evidence based treatments such as medications, psychotherapy (talk therapy), exercise, mindfulness, or dietary supplements.

Please note: the consultation comes with no guarantee or expectation of treatment/medical care (such as a prescription for medication) or formation of a treatment relationship. The consultation may require multiple encounters prior to formation of a doctor-patient relationship. Should the doctor and patient each agree to enter a doctor-patient relationship, a professional relationship is only then established.
